I don’t know if anybody else has been keeping up with the most recent antics from AB, but if you haven’t, just know it has gone from bad to bat sh*t crazy. With that being said, I still think this man has an opportunity to make a mutual financial agreement with the XFL. For what it’s worth, I think the XFL should make this man an offer if they haven’t already, even if it doesn’t last for more than a week. Similar to what the AAF Memphis Express did by signing Johnny Manziel last summer, it would create a huge buzz of attention for the league and local interest for the team. I currently reside in Memphis myself, and I legit considered attending the remaining games just to say I saw “Johnny Football”. I knew people who drove from College Station, TX just to watch the one game he started in. Now, I’m not saying that there would be this same amount of love for AB if he were to suit up for the XFL, but I don’t think he minds playing the villain, which he would FOR SURE be.
By playing the villain, he plays the same role as a WWE format. There always has to be a good vs bad. Drama sells, and for those who are not fully sold on the XFL football brand itself, a drama filled soap opera-esc brand may keep viewership solid from week to week. Thinking back to the beef between Josh Norman and Odell Beckham a few years ago, people were so caught up on what was said on Twitter and a second match up between the two, that no one was really acknowledging the fact that both Norman and Beckham were actually having pretty good seasons stat wise. And if we’re being truly, TRULY honest, there is no Josh Norman without Odell Beckham. I mean Norman is a solid corner, but after the “beef” he created with arguably one of the best wideouts at that time, he became somewhat of a household name. SO NOW, imagine a no name defensive back squaring up with Antonio Brown…..we’re talking a modern day Pros Vs Joes.
